Orange Jello Pudding

In medium saucepan, combine:
1 pkg. orange jello
1 pkg. Tapioca pudding (cook kind)
1 pkg. vanilla pudding (cook kind)

Drain liquid from large can mandarin oranges into large measuring cup; add water to make 3 cups liquid; add small amount at a time to pan and stir until smooth.
Cook on medium high heat stirring frequently until boiling.
Remove from heat and stir in one 8 oz. container of frozen Cool Whip. Add drained oranges and stir. Refrigerate several hours til set.

  1. This is one of my favorite recipes.

    When I have made this salad, it said to let it boil for 10 minutes (while stirring). Have you had any problems with it not setting up? My recipe also says to let it cool completely before adding the Cool Whip and oranges.

    I never thought about using the juice from the mandarin oranges; that is a good idea.
